French studio Shiro Games announced the next major update for 4X strategy game Dune: Spice Wars. The update will add a new fraction House Corrino to the game. Corrino is a ruling family of galactic-wide empire in the Dune universe.
The factions on Arrakis have become unruly, and as such, the Padishah Emperor Shaddam IV is left with no choice but to make a rare trip to the desert planet, alongside his feared Sardaukar in order to remind them of his dominion. While he holds a lot of power, he must also be careful to preserve certain essential relationships, most crucially with the Spacing Guild.
The developers promise that the economic system will differ when you plan this new fraction. Players will be able to receive spice taxes and bribes from other fractions, but at the same time, they will have to pay to Space Guild for maintaining interstellar travel and make efforts to keep the Empire united.
The exact release date of the update is still not announced. According to the roadmap, it should be released this summer. Developers will provide more details soon.
